  • Tulip from this spring - I have been going through my files and processing some shots that I had missed earlier.
  • Trumpet Lilies - I removed a busy background and replaced it with black.
  • Grasshopper Love - not as sharp as I'd like because the wind was blowing the stem constantly, but I thought it was interesting.
  • Shirley Poppy - I replaced the busy background with the black; this one took a really long time to isolate the little hairs on the stem.
  • Martagon Lily - Thanks to Kevin for pointing out that the AI in yesterday's image had screwed up the connection between the bridle and the reins. I have to fix that.
  • I replaced a vacant lot and residential neighborhood with this field of wildflowers and grasses using PS Generate AI. The AI is getting better with each update to the beta.
  • Red Poppy
  • Weed Seedhead
  • Squirrel Sneaking About
  • Zephirine Drouhin - thornless rose
  • Hollyhock
  • Stargazer Oriental Lilies - a painterly version
  • Grasshopper on a Lily - Marlis asked me to thank everyone for their condolences for Robert's death and for their thoughts and prayers.
  • Fireworks with an AI reflection - Phil is recovering well. Thanks for all your inquiries.
  • House Finch Taking a Bath
  • Blue Jay with a peanut - Yesterday was fairly awful. Up at 4:00 a.m., Phil's surgery to repair an abdominal hernia and put in a port for the peritoneal dialysis (in about 3 months), discharge from the hospital at 11:30, rush to the dialysis center for 4.5 hrs. of hemodialysis, then to the pharmacy for his meds, and, finally, a restless night full of interruptions. However, he feels better this morning. We face the future with optimism. Thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayers. They mean a lot!
  • Robins at the Fountain - My husband was looking at his ipod and told me that a friend of mine, Marlis Schoeb, had died. I immediately went to smugmug and put a note on my image for the day. I was mortified to learn later when I received an e-mail from Marlis that Robert was the one who had died. He had been battling cancer and lost his battle after having another surgery and experiencing complications. I know we will all miss him dreadfully. I have admired the team of Marlis and Robert so much for their superb quality images and their devotion to learning and nature. I wanted to get this misinformation corrected, even though I will be at the hospital all day today with Phil, who is having a surgery.
  • Male Northern Red-Shafted Flicker - I misunderstood an e-mail...it is Robert who has passed away. (Birds-Wildlife Australia) It is nonetheless an awful tragedy. We will miss him.

Love everything about night photography...... beautiful bursts of colors in the night sky and the Al reflections work perfect with your composition.
I'm currently looking at some lens choices for Milky Way and Star
    Trails.
