9/6/12 - Near Dubois, WY; a lot of the landscape between Dubois and Lander looks very similar to this. Best viewed in the largest sizes. Although it is not as dramatic as the shots I've seen of the Palouse, this reminds me a bit of that kind of landscape in the way the light and shadow highlights the contours of the hills. It is very pretty country, with lots of prosperous looking farms. I was surprised that there is a lot of crop irrigating being done in the area. I actually shot this from our moving car. I've discovered if I shoot at a shutter speed of 1/1000 second from the moving car, I generally get fairly sharp shots.
Thanks for the comments and support on my portrait of the nature lover. Much appreciated. There were so many wonderful shots on smugmug and I really enjoyed looking at them. I learn so much just by looking at your shots!
Constructive criticism is always welcome!
