Bentley hood ornament; best viewed in the largest sizes. This was a beautiful car, but I was fascinated by the hood ornament.
I stayed up all night last night monitoring the storms and alerts. The weather service had predicted that the Miami, OK area would be at the heart of the worst weather, which did not happen, thankfully. When I heard the warnings, it was my worst nightmare coming true...being in an RV, with no storm shelter, and on a night with high risks for tornadoes. The Newell folks let us move our RV into the garage, which would protect the RV from hail. Inside the garage, they had a service pit, which was about four feet deep and surrounded by thick cement. If a tornado had come, we were going to get into the pit, which did not have a top and hunker down. Luckily, for us, the worst of the storms ended up being west of Miami, but I spent a pretty bad night monitoring the warnings and the progress of the storms.
Then, today, we were going to go to a Big Band concert at the Coleman Theater, a beautifully restored art decco theater here in Miami. We'd just gone inside, when my husband fell and when I saw his hand, one of his fingers was at a 45 degree angle to the others. It looked so awful. As it turned out, his finger was dislocated. They had to cut off his wedding ring, but we are grateful that nothing was broken. The doctor said his tendon was incredibly stretched, so he has a splint and needs to give the tendon time to recover. He might need to have the tendon tightened up later. Our adventure is certainly turning out differently from what we'd imagined.
The weather is finally improving...the sun is peaking through. Hope your weekend has been great!
