A little girl rides her scooter in the early morning light and is glimpsed through grassess and weeds that partially obscure her figure. I took this at the Great Sand Dunes National Park campground. At the time, I was trying to come up with a shot for the Dgrin Motion challenge. I had hoped this would show more motion than it does. However, I like the shot, in spite of the weeds and grasses in the foreground, because of the way the light is hitting the little girl.
Thanks so much for all the nice comments on the biker with the little dog pic. Sometimes you just know that a photo is going to be a bit special. The dog was so cute and the biker was so proud of it and the light behind the dog was really nice. And, luckily, as always, I had my camera on my lap in the car. (I also had my little white dog on MY lap, as well). Anyway, it makes me feel really good that so many of you liked the shot, too.
Hope your day is grand.

on September 29, 2009Pretty cool also that it appears that the watchful parent(s) are there if she needs them but letting her have fun. Maybe not her parents, but I liked the blurred onlooker(s) too. And, as you said, great light and neat how the weeds partially obscure her but not really. It's just a fun shot to study and enjoy.

on September 29, 2009Nice capture. Really like the three layers: sof focus foreground, girl in focus, and background sof focus.
