1. Daily shots for the dailies forum on Dgrin

Dailies

These images are ones shot to post in the daily community on smugmug. I've been participating in this community for about twelve years. For the first few years, I tried to always post a shot taken either that day or the day before. Now, although I try to shoot everyday, I don't necessarily post the images on the same day they are shot.

  • Day 38 - A Hollywood Theater at night. I liked all their neon and the softly lit parking lot.
  • Day 36 - A still life composed of advertising tins, wine bottles, baccarat crystal, coke bottles and red peppers in vinegar; the image has been manipulated in Photoshop to create an image similar to a fine art silkscreen print that emphasizes the reflections.

  • Day 34 - The Air Force Thunderbirds flying in formation during an Air Force Academy Graduation flyover; I have added the flag and clouds to the image.
  • Day 67 - A still life composed of dried artichoke, various bead necklaces, an art basket and chenille scarf and a pomegranate; this image has been manipulated in Photoshop to create an image that is similar to a pen and ink drawing.
  • A still life composed of dried artichoke, various bead necklaces, an art basket and chenille scarf and a pomegranate; this image has been manipulated in photoshop to create an image that is similar to a fine art silkscreen print. It is worth viewing in the larger sizes to see the details. We visited the Denver Botanical Garden day before yesterday and, for two days, I have been processing images and am only about half done. Hopefully, tomorrow I will finally get some of these images uploaded. We had a gorgeous day today and tomorrow is also supposed to be nice. Hope you are having equally good weather.
  • Day 37 - A still life at sunset --- composed of baccarat wine glass, white wine, pomegranate, and dried artichoke heart.
  • A very old shot, but it seemed like a good one for Christmas day. I hope you are all enjoying yourselves with family and friends!<br />

Thanks for all your good wishes and comments over the years.
  • Day 33 - A German iris in bloom, also taken in my garden last spring. Thanks to everyone's comments on my peony image. You were so nice I decided to post another flower picture.
  • Day 29 - This image of a 1936 Ford Cabriolet has been manipulated in Photoshop to create an image that is similar to fine art silkscreen print.
  • Day 28 - A composite image incorporating four versions of a close up of a motorcycle; each of the images has been manipulated in Photoshop to create an image that is similar to a fine art silkscreen print; this image is best viewed in a larger size.
  • Day 32 - A lazy bear is resting but eating at the same time, photographed at the Denver Zoo.
  • Day 30 - Minolta DSC
  • Day 31 - I took this shot and then created a mirror image using Photoshop. Probably one of him is enough, however! Ha!
  • This still life composition of advertising tins and glass and crystal has been manipulated in Photoshop to emphasize the reflections and create an image that is similar to a fine art silkscreen print. You need to view it in the larger sizes to see this effect. I took this shot a long time ago but my recent coke bottle shots got me looking over some of these older still lifes. I have not printed and framed many of my shots but I do have this one framed and blown up to about 20 x 24 on one wall.<br />

Thanks for your comments on my grocery store orchid shot. Much appreciated. I'm pooped tonight, as I helped my daughter paint a couple of rooms in her house today. Nice to see the change in a room happen so quickly.<br />

Have a great Sunday!
  • Day 26 - A lioness photographed last spring in a wildlife park.
  • Day 27 - A zebra displays his teeth; this image is best viewed in a larger size
  • Day 25 - The raven is the most ubiquitous bird in Bryce National Park; you see them everywhere, mostly scavenging from automobile grills and license plates. They are beautiful birds, though. This image is best viewed in a larger size. If you look at it in the X3 size, you can see the hairs on the bottom of his beak and other great details.
  • Day 24 - A doe and her fawn in Zion National Park; the deer are extremely skinny --- don't look very healthy
  • Day 23 - Panorama - taken along a road in Utah not too far from the dam at Lake Powell. I don't generally post more than one shot a day, but I wanted to participate in the panorama challenge that Art issued, although I had not had a chance to take any recent panos. I don't remember the exact number of shots included in this pano, but there were at least nine. As you can see, the scene encompasses both sides of the road. I combined them using Photoshop CS3. I did use a tripod.<br />
<br />
I have actually blown up one of my panos in a 13 inch x 65 inch size and framed it. ePengo printed it for me. This is not the one I had printed. I couldn't remember which gallery it was in.

Thanks for commenting on my photos. I am passionately learning and practicing, and the feedback means alot. I could have commented on many of your very nice shots, but will do so with this one, as it is the standard I seek to achieve with my bird photography: I haven't come across such a cooperative Towhee - a very nice photograph.
