A team of Clydesdale horses pulling a wagon - these horses are stunningly beautiful. Probably best viewed in the larger sizes. I did find that photographing black horses was generally more difficult in the lower light conditions than photographing white or lighter colored horses. Also, for teams of horses like this one, the light in the coliseum would vary quite a bit from one part of the team to the other, so it was difficult to expose the whole team properly. At this point the team was coming almost directly at me at a pretty good clip. I was sitting on the first row on the floor of the coliseum. Because I'm short and there were bars in front of me, I ended up spending almost the entire time on my knees peeking through two of the bars. It was a bit awkward but I did have a pretty good view most of the time.
Thanks for the positive comments on my shot of the female barrel racer at full gallop. It must be really thrilling to be going at such a fast pace on top of the horse. I really enjoyed browsing through the pics today...so much variety! Enjoy your day!
