9/14/12 - Jackson Lake, Grand Tetons; best viewed in the largest sizes. I keep hoping I'll come across one of those wonderful scenes in the mountains with tons of wildflowers in the foreground and it never seems to happen for me. I thought this foreground was not too bad. I certainly should not complain about the Grand Tetons because they are so gorgeous in any conditions. That is fireweed blooming along the edge of the lake. We saw lots of fireweed blooming in high mountain meadows on the way to the Grand Tetons, but the views were not expansive like this one.
Thanks so much for your warm response to my shot of Devil's Tower and the hay field. I can't tell you how many shots I've taken of hay fields and very few have even been worth processing, so it was a treat to find one with something like Devil's Tower in the bg. The drive from the main highway to Devil's Tower is through lovely agricultural areas...well worth seeing even if there were not Devil's Tower at the end. Thanks also for your suggestions for improving the sky. I've actually got a collection of skies that I can use to move into shots with lousy skies and on a couple of occasions, I've even created my own clouds, with mixed results.
Constructive criticism is always welcome! Have a great day!
