This squirrel was being attacked by a wren. I don’t know why, but the wren came back over and over and would actually run its beak into the squirrel at full speed. The squirrel had its tail laid along its back to give it some protection.

The answer to your question is a resounding, "Yes!" The Japanese Magnolias are in full bloom in my area and were so even at the beginning of January (when the photo was taken). The tree is our backyard started producing buds a few days ago. Yesterday, it's full and I took pics to prove it! It's crazy weather, but surely a sign of the times!!
Amazing story! Notice that even full-on-beak-attacks by the bird have not deterred the squirrel from feasting at the bird feeder. I guess the bird had just had enough and "wasn't going to take it anymore!"
