fotoeffects > Reflected trees - at the pond where I was photographing the ducks last week.

Thanks to all of you for your nice response to my frost on the window pic. It is such a rare thing for us to have frost on the window. I was thrilled to have a chance to capture it. Hope your week begins well.
fotoeffects > Thar's frost on the pumpkin and on the window - We rarely have frost on any of our windows, so I was quite excited to see it on the storm door one morning not long ago. I rushed to get my camera and captured a few shots. You really need to view this in the largest sizes to see the wonderful patterns.

Thanks for the comments on my power stack pic. Hope your holiday weekend is going well. Glad to hear that many of you are no more ready for Christmas than I am. We slackers like to hear that we are not the only ones!
fotoeffects > Power stack and steam - I think this image needs to be viewed in the larger sizes.

Is everyone in the throes of shopping for Christmas already? I can't seem to get my mind around it this year. Perhaps, because my hubby is having a total hip replacement on Dec. 8, or maybe I'm just ditzy this year. Who knows? Anyway, I'm going to try to get myself in gear real soon. Hope you have a good day.

It was a very nice Thanksgiving day at my daughters, but I find that overeating makes me pretty tired. Enjoy your long weekend!
fotoeffects > On a day when many of us will be making a "pig" of ourselves at the Thanksgiving spread, I thought I'd post this picture of "Charlie" by sculptor Carrie Quade.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
fotoeffects > I'm So Pretty, Oh, So Pretty... - Another shot from my duck shooting session last week. This duck actually had just gotten a drink, but I liked the reflection and its position.

Thanks for all your comments on my windows reflection pic from the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. Hope your day is grand!
fotoeffects > This is not a recent shot. I took it last summer at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival and was looking at that gallery and decided to use it as my daily today. It is just a reflection in a shop window, but I liked the combination of things that you see. View the detail in the largest sizes.

Have a great day!
fotoeffects > I managed to take this shot of the duck without falling down.

Thanks for all the comments on the flying duck. I did actually twist my knee when I fell but it seems to be getting better pretty quickly. Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I seemed to spend most of it on the computer. Have a good week!
fotoeffects > Lucky shot - A couple of days ago I spent an hour or so photographing ducks at a small park behind Colorado College. I had hoped to get some shots of ducks flying but these guys were just not interested. Finally, it was almost time to go and I decided to take matters into my own hands. I took my big lens back to the car and got my 24 - 70mm lens. I figured I could run at the ducks with this in my hands and, hopefully, get a shot of one flying if I was quick enough. I was having a bit of success with this. At least, the ducks were flying. I ran at a group of them and they took off. As I was trying to grab a shot, my foot slipped on the sort of icy, slushy, duck poopy ground and I fell on my butt into a bunch of duck poop. I shot this as I was going down and it turned out to be the best of the whole day, I think. The back of my coat and pants were pretty well soaked in duck poop. Unfortunately, I had to go from the park to my pilates class. My fellow classmates and instructor gave me a pretty hard time about how I looked. It was worth it, though. I'll probably try it again!

Thanks for all the nice comments on my tower light and shadow shot. Hope you have a good day!
