fotoeffects > Centennial Park in Colorado Springs early in the morning after a light snowfall...the water vapor is from the power plant nearby.

Thanks a lot for all the comments on the shot of the light and mountains from the hospital window. We did have a great view there. Have a good day.
fotoeffects > One more shot from the hospital window...this time in the evening.

Thanks so much for all the kind wishes for Phil. He is making progress, but still having quite a lot of pain. And, thanks also for the nice comments on my shot of the little chapel in the hospital. I was so excited to discover it when I went down to grab a bite of lunch. Really made my day! I didn't get as much commenting done as I'd like, but there were certainly a lot of wonderful shots up here tonight. It is also exciting to see smugmuggers exploring new directions in their photography. You all really are interested in growing and improving and I see the results of it everyday! You are a constant inspiration to me!
fotoeffects > Lovely little chapel at Penrose Hospital.

Thanks for the many comments on my early morning shot of Pike's Peak. I photograph that mountain all the time and am generally not too pleased with my shots, but I did like that one. We're back at home. Phil is still in a LOT of pain. Hope this passes soon. Thanks for all the good wishes for his recovery! We appreciate it!

Phil gets to go home today, so I'll probably have little time for commenting but will try to catch up in the evening.
fotoeffects > View the detail on the three baby marmots in the largest sizes. I've taken some shots while I've been here in the hospital but have not yet processed them, so I decided to use this shot that I took last summer.

It is sunny, clear and very cold here in Colorado Springs. Have a good day!
fotoeffects > A small obelisk in Centennial Park in Colorado Springs

We are at the hospital. I slept last night between two chairs. My hubby's hip replacement surgery went well, although he is having some pain now. They'll get him up to walk just a bit on it today. It was 15 degrees below zero here last night. Hope it is warmer where you are!
fotoeffects > Snowy Shadow - I took this a couple of mornings ago after a bit of snow had fallen overnight. I'm posting early because my hubby is having his hip replacement surgery tomorrow morning and we'll be leaving the house around 5:30 a.m. I'm taking my laptop to the hospital, but I'm not sure if I'll get much chance to post or comment for the next few days.

Anyway, hope you all have a good week! Take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
fotoeffects > Private Concert - My grandson, Spencer, entertaining us at a private concert.

Thanks for the nice comments on my power plant shot. Some of you asked what kind of plant --- it is a coal fired power plant for the city of Colorado Springs, located just on the edge of the downtown area. The "smoke" was water vapor.
fotoeffects > View of the water vapor from the power plant on a very cold morning - I have to admit that I am rather obsessed with getting shots of this downtown power plant. The best views of it seem to be from a spot on the freeway where there is no possible place to stop and that is not a good view from the windshield of the car. This was shot from the lot of the Chevrolet dealer.

Thanks for the encouragement on my book, as well as the comments on the shot of the bike rider. We get to go to my grandson's piano recital today and Duncan is playing one of his own compositions. I'm excited to hear him play!
