1/28/13 - A bit of sc! I'm not sure if I like this as well as the original color shot, which can be seen here. Quite a surprise, but it certainly made my day! I've been trying to get a decent shot of anthurium for years; I never get the kind of dof I'd like. I'm glad you all liked this one, though.
1/27/13 - Anthurium, photographed in very low light inside AJ's supermarket in Tucson. A number of your have asked how I manage to take so many shots inside businesses. I always carry my camera with me and it is quite noticeable. I try to take my shots quickly. I generally don't ask for permission, unless I am questioned. Then, I say I am a photographer and always on the lookout for neat photo ops. Only once have I been asked not to photograph. I don't ever use flash inside shops. I often, truthfully, say things like, "I really like photographing glass, bottles, produce, etc." Thanks for your supportive comments on my shot of the glass decanters. I appreciate the time it takes to comment.
1/26/13 - Glass decanters; shot at either Crate and Barrel or Pottery Barn...I can't remember which. Thanks so much for your comments on the exotic dragon fruit in the grocery store. I really appreciate your taking the time to post a comment.
1/25/13 - Shot in AJ's Supermarket in the La Encatada Mall in Tucson. It is rare to find a grocery store that is a real treat just to browse through, but AJ's definitely fits that bill. Several of you have identified this fruit as dragon fruit....hooray for smart smuggers! Thanks for your warm response to my shot of the apples in the basket tray. You guys are the most supportive community! Hope it warms up a bit for those of you experiencing the terrific cold! We actually got some rain today and are expecting more in the coming days.
1/24/13 - Apples in a Basket, selective color applied. I took this shot last week, thinking I might use it as my entry in the dgrin challenge that closed on Monday (selective color), but because of my computer problems, I was unable to get it processed in time to use it as my entry. The basket was sitting on a bottom shelf of an open cabinet with light from a window falling across the fruit. I liked the light and I always find something rather compelling about shots of apples. Thanks for your comments on my shot of the boy studying the painting at the Fine Arts Center. I believe the painting is by an artist named Pletka but, unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the painting. I may even have the artist's name wrong. Have a great day!

1/22/13 - Paintings by Floyd D Tunson were featured in a large exhibit at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. This is a huge floor-to-ceiling installation of a number of separate pieces of art that were created to go together. They are quite amazing to see in person. Thanks for your comments on my shot of the hanging glass in Cherry Creek. Much appreciated. After spending quite a few hours online with a senior Apple technical consultant, I seem to have resolved my problem, at least for now. I reloaded the operating system and the problem still existed but, then, suddenly, a few hours later, it suddenly was ok. Makes me worry that it will recur. The Apple consultant was thinking I probably had a hadware problem, possibly a defective logic board or bad USB ports. I'm going to check with her tomorrow to see if I should still take the computer in for testing. I appreciated all your good wishes on my computer problems. I know most of us experience these kinds of things from time to time.
1/21/13 - Hanging in a shop in Cherry Creek, CO. Thanks for your comments several days ago on my shot of the great horned owl. After posting the shot, I was unable to get in to see your responses asI have not been able to get into my computer for several days now. It will not recognize a mouse click of any kind, so I cannot do anything. I dragged my laptop out of the closet and am posting this way. I'm not sure when I'll be able to get the computer fixed. I've been to the Apple store two days in a row and the computer works fine there but won't work in our RV. They thought it is some sort of bluetooth interference but my wireless mouse works fine with the laptop, so why won't ti work with the main computer? Trials and tribulations!
