3/14/13 - I've been wanting to get a shot of laundry on a line for ages, so was thrilled to see this in Old Town Tucson Studios. I decided selective color might be worth trying on the shot. What do you think?

I do appreciate your warm response to my most recent hummingbird post. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
3/13/13 - Hummingbird, photographed at the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum. Many of you mentioned in your comments yesterday that you rarely saw hummers at rest. Actually, they do spend a lot of time sitting. This little guy's tongue is out a bit.

Thanks so much for making my shot of the hummer on the nest the #1 shot for the day. Took me totally by surprise. I've been lucky enough to photograph three hummer nests. All were quite low in trees or shrubs. However, each one that I've photographed was in Arizona...two at the Phoenix Botanic Garden and the other at the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum. Although we had lots of hummers around our home in Colorado Springs, I never managed to spot a hummer's nest there. I did spot something quite unusual here in the Bastrop, Tx yesterday. Several smallish trees around a gas station had many nests in each tree. One must have had 15 - 20 nests in it, all quite close together. I think they may be the nests of some type of grackle, common cowbirds or bronzed cowbirds. I've seen very large flocks of the birds everywhere around here. Do any of you know of this kind of nesting behavior. I'd guess the nest are no more than a foot away from one another. There were several of these small trees by the service station and each one had many nests in it.

Thanks for your warm response to my shot of the horse today! I really enjoyed perusing your comments! Have a great day!
3/11/13 - Horse at Old Town tucson Studios

Thanks so much for making my shot inside the liquor store the #1 shot for the day the day before! What a thrill to see my shot in that spot! I did not get to post yesterday due to no 'Net access, so I am tardy in my thanks to you!
3/9/13 - A liquor store in the old depot in downtown Tucson. This is one of only a few shops in the depot, which still serves as a train depot. I liked the many different examples of repetition in this shot, caused by the various arrangements of bottles.

Thanks to those of you who commented on my shot of the interesting design on the building under construction. I appreciate your taking the time to stop by.
3/8/13 - Not the greatest shot, but I found this intricate design that is part of a new building in downtown Tucson quite fascinating! It is right next to the old railroad depot.

Thanks for your comments on my b/w of the waterfall. I appreciate your support!
3/7/13 - Waterfalls at Old Town Tucson. This was taken in very bright sun. I used my new 10-stop ND filter to cut down the glare on the water. I think this is worth looking at in the larger sizes.

Thanks for your comments on my shot of the fist fight in Old Town. Much appreciated!
3/6/13 - Ow! That hurt! - also shot at Old Town Tucson Studios; this was part of the "stunt" show, in which they demonstrated how stunts were done in the movies. Have to admit it looked pretty darn real!

Thanks for your comments on my shot a few days ago of the reflections in the metal sculpture. Much appreciated! The last two days of driving across eastern NM and western Texas were pretty awful, with dust storms and extremely high winds, which are not very nice in an RV. But we have arrived safely in the Austin area and I'm looking forward to finding things to shoot here.
2/3/13 - Reflections at Metal Village, a small complex of individual metal artist's studios. In Tucson.

Thanks for your comments on my shot of the Airstream reflections. Thanks also to those of you who commented on one of my shots of a cormorant taken several years ago. Not sure what caused all the commenting on that one!

We're taking off tomorrow morning in the RV for Texas. We'll take three days to get there and I won't have a chance to post or comment during that time. See you soon!
