12/22/12 - This is one of my rejects for my Christmas card this year. Look closely to see Phil and me on the top of Spider Rock in Canyon de Chelly....and you all know, I'm terrified of heights! I thought you might get a chuckle out of this one.

Thanks for your comments on my shot of the saguaro cactus. I do appreciate every one!
12/21/12 - Old saguaro cactus in Saguaro National Park

Thanks for all the comments on my shot of the windows! I really appreciate your taking the time to comment.
12/20/12 - Windows of a restaurant in Moab; I really liked the color and contrast with the stucco walls provided by the Mexican serapes hung as curtains.

Thank you all for once more making one of my bird shots the #1 shot for the day. These creatures are so beautiful and when you are offered such a wonderful opportunity to capture them up so close, it is hard not to get some good shots.
12/19/12 - Gray hawk at the raptor free fly at the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum.

Thanks so much, everyone, for your comments on my shot of the great horned owl and for making it the #1 shot for the day. What a thrill to see that!

Thanks for your comments on my shot of the agave bud and the bee. Much appreciated!
12/17/12 - An agave bud and bee, shot from at least thirty feet away. I could barely see the bee in the lens and decided to try to capture it. It turned out better than I could have hoped. Really shows the amazing capability of the D800 to capture detail at a distance. I used my 100 - 200 mm lens at 190mm, handheld to capture the shot.

Thanks for your support on my shot yesterday. I think every one in the country feels the same. I saw a shot by Dianne Ward of Boston that I thought was extremely moving...a large group of children holding candles in an evening ceremony honoring the dead in this tragedy. If you did not get a chance to see it, you might want to search for it.
12/16/12 - For all the children at Sandy Hook Elementary who will not have a chance to experience the wonder of childhood.

Thanks for your warm response to my shot of Monument Valley. Much appreciated.
12/14/12 - Monument Valley, Utah; best viewed in the largest sizes. Taken just a bit before sunset on a very windy and dusty day. Some of you have indicated you would like to know more about our travels and what it is like to live in an RV. I am doing an occasional e-mail on those subjects for our family and friends and if any of you would like to be added to the distribution list, just send me an e-mail and I'd be happy to include you. I send one every couple of months.

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the terrible tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. I cannot imagine how devastating this is for those who have lost loved ones and to the citizens of the town. Please know that our nation mourns with you!

Thanks for making Phil's shot of the ferruginous hawk about to land the #1 shot for the day. It was quite a thrill for him.
12/13/12 - Ferruginous hawk, photographed at the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum during the free fly raptor program. This is the largest of the hawks. This shot was taken my my husband, Phil.

Thanks for your comments on my shot of the restored firetruck.
