1/8/13 - San Miguel Mission in Socorro, NM in the 1600s. Captured last night after dinner. As always, I had my camera with me but had not planned on taking any outside night shots. Luckily, there was a wall around the church grounds and I was able to rest the camera on that to steady it for the long exposure. I did not do much pp, other than straighteniing the verticals of the church a bit.

Thanks for your comments a couple of days ago on my shot of the bighorn sheep. Much appreciated! We just got back to Tucson from our trip to Colorado Springs. Glad to get back to some warmer temps.

1/6/13 - Bighorn sheep at the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum. I was sorry that they were not looking in my direction at all when we were here. Nonetheless, they are such beautiful animals and I felt privileged to see them.

1/4/13 - Harris hawk. They have this sort of hunched look most of the time. They hunt in groups; because they work cooperatively, they tend to live longer than other raptors.

Thanks for all the comments on my shot inside Walmart. I did not ask for permission to shoot the photo, but I often take pictures inside grocery stores and have never been bothered about it.

12/31/12 - At the street fair in Tucson

Thanks for your comments on my shot of the "wrapped" man. Much appreciated.

12/30/12 - This image was created using Photoshop's displace filter...not a very user-friendly one. I'm definitely going to try it again with another image. In this case, the image of the man was "wrapped" in the other image, which was a kaleidoscope I'd created some time ago. For the process to work well, you object to be "wrapped" needs to be a high contrast image and I'm not sure the one I chose was really contrasty enough.
