5/18/13 - Zion National Park, Virgin River...near the Narrows. I've been wanting to try some of the long exposure techniques that others of you have been doing. This was my first opportunity. I used a 10-stop neutral density filter and a 2.5 sec. exposure for this image. The waterfall was in very bright sun but the area of the river closer to me was shaded. We were in the Zion area for a week and I have lots of shots to upload. I was able to upload only two shots this evening.

I appreciated your support on my most recent posting of several days ago --- the image of the Pueblo dancers with the shadows. Today is the first 'Net access I've had for quite a few days. We are in Boise, ID and will be here just two nights. Hopefully, I can post and comment both nights here.
5/15/13 - Pueblo Indian Cultural Center; I loved the stripes cast by the shadows on the images of the Pueblo dancers.

This is the first time in several days that I've been able to get onto the Internet at all and the access is VERY slow. I'm anxious to upload some of my new photos but it looks like it will have to wait until we get to a different place. Thanks to everyone who has commented on one of my shots recently.
5/12/13 - What I think are old grain silos along I-40. I thought that, since the image is made up of rather simple shapes, I'd process it in Topaz Simplify and I liked this result pretty well because I think it emphasizes those shapes. This time I replaced the Simplify sky with the original sky, so I did not get any artifacts in the sky.

I do appreciate so many of you taking the time to comment on my shot of the landscape building along the highway. I just could not stand not sharing it with you all. I'm glad so many of you thought it was pretty unique and interesting.
5/11/13 - Not that great a shot. I took this as we sped by on I-40. We were in the middle of nowhere and someone had painted this little building on all four sides with this wonderful landscape. It just makes me wonder why...

Thanks so much for your warm response to my sc shot of the house and lawn chairs. The sc did not pop out as much as I'd have liked, but I knew the miinute I saw them outside that house that I'd have to process the shot in sc.
5/10/13 - Old house in Bastrop, TX; selective color used on the chairs

Thanks for your supportive comments on my image of the stairway and shadow in Old Town Albuquerque. Thanks, also, for your kind wishes for my health. Based on all the tests (and there were tons of them) done at the hospital, my heart seems to be in good shape. We're in Cedar Creek, Utah, a bit outside of Zion and plan to spend a week exploring Zion and the other parks in the area. Hopefully, the 'Net access will be good enough that I can upload some of my newer shots.
5/9/13 - Another shot in Old Town Albuquerque. When I saw these stairs, I knew I wanted to try to get a shot with shadows. Unfortunately, the shadows were not as interesting as I'd have liked. This was the best of the bunch.

Thanks to all who commented on my previous Old Town shot. Unfortunately, I did not get to comment that day as I spent all day and then the night at the hospital due to a bit of odd behavior on the part of my heart. Everything seems to be ok, though, and I'm back iin the motorhome. We're taking off for Zion National Park tomorrow.
5/8/13 - Another image from Old Town Albuquerque. This time I chose the color image because I thought there was so much going on with both the gate and the light and shadows that this one seemed of provide the most clarity. However, if you'd like to judge for yourself, here is the b/w version: http://fotoeffects.smugmug.com/Other/Odds-and-Ends/7032233_dn3zKD#!i=2498279654&k=dN87Jr7

Thanks for your comments on my previous Old Town Albuquerque shot. I really appreciate your thoughts.
5/6/13 - In Old Town Albuquerque; this is outside a restaurant on the square and I was struck by the light and shadows. I liked the color version , but I think the b/w version emphasizes the contrasts between the light and darker areas.

Thanks for your comments on my capture of the Laguna Indian dancers. Much appreciated. I awash and overwhelmed with images from Las Vegas, Lake Havasu City and Albuquerque. Also, our 'net access is very poor here and I have difficulty uploading any images at all. Oh, well, eventually, I'll get caught up. Have a great day!
45/5/13 - Laguna Indian corn dance, performed at the Pueblo Indian Cultural Center in Albuquerque; this dance is basically a rain dance, asking the gods for rain for the corn to grow.

Thanks for all your comments on my shot of the Bellagio fountain show. I appreciate your taking the time to stop by.
